I agree with bwimports...
It is important to use the correct HID bulb type. All of the photos posted in this thread shows HID setups with annoying glare...a big NO NO and illegal! Not to mention that there's no beam cut-off. A correct HID setup will show a nice beam cut-off. This ensures that the beam is properly dispersed onto the ground and not into someone's eyes. I come across a handful in my city and I feel like throwing rocks at those cars because its blinding the hell out of me and people around me. So, I decided to get a handheld high powered spot light to throw a bright beam back at them when they think they are too cool for blinding oncoming traffic with their hideous HID's. Aim those headlights low!

How exactly do you "aim" your headlights ....and if I am wanting to go with H.I.D.s can someone link me to where I can buy a good brand for the montero etc?
Also, are the kits on eBay for $200 or $150 alright?
thanks

lol. my ge nighthawks are brighter than most of those ebay HIDs you guys are running. And they're completely legal. That and my KCs throw a beam right on the ground in front of me... makes late night trails more negotiable real quick.

Unlike many, I'm not into blue or purple beams. The whiter the better = brighter. Personally, I prefer the 4000k, 6000k would be the most I would go for.

Ok, well im pretty sure im going with 6000k or 4300k as they are the brightest. So would i just install them and be set or would i need to do something else to not blind people?

You should be ok if you use the correct bulb type that is suitable for reflector headlights.

I was trying to install my 6000k HID's today and couldn't figure out which of the 3 wires i plug the 2 wires into, so if anyone can answer within the next hour or hour and a half would be good. There's a black wire and a white wire with my kit and on the montero there's 3 inserts ( one is red wire, one is red and white, and the other is red and blue)
I figured out the red whire is the ground wire and the blue is positive.
I need to find out whether the black or white wire with the hid kit is positive or negative.
