ok, so heres the deal, i want to put on 32" tires on my montero, but the ones im looking at are 32x11.5, does that mean that i have to buy wheels that are 11.5 inches wide, or will they work on stock montero wheels?

99montero, 32" tires can fit on a 15x7 or 15x8 rim. But you will need the 2" lift the fit 32" tires. If you have the 99 LS you probably have 15x6 rims. But if you have the off road package then you probably have the 15x7 rims. The best way to find out is to take a tire off the rim and measure the rim from the inside edges of the rim. I would suggest getting the 15x8 rims because if you someday want 33" tires you need 15x8 rims. You might be asking, so what's the biggest size tire that I can I put on a 15x6 rim? I would recommend going NO bigger than a 30" tire. Any local tire shop will say the same thing, a 30" tire on a 15x6 rim is the safest increase you should go. But many people still choose to ignore this and put 31" tires on any way. Besides a 31" tire on a 15x6 rim will rub on the inside of the wheel well. Hello,
I put 32x 11.5 BFGS on my stock 15 x 7" rims and they work great! I did lift the truck between 1.25-2" to get everything to fit correctly.
The 32" spare tire also fits under the rear of the truck if you don't have the offroad tire carrier on your truck.
