Hey all, I am looking at a set of 265x75 R16 Tires for the girlfriends vehicle. The tires on the list are the Goodyear MTR, the BFG TA KO, and the Firestone Destination M/T.
Does anyone have any experience with the Firestone tires? TireRack is ranking them very high and they look pretty damn nice, especially with a pricepoint $30 less than the MTR's.
Thanks!

MT/Rs are GREAT on rocks and slick rock but suck in mud.
BFG A/T suck in mud
BFG M/Ts weren't on your list but they are what I'd go with.
A guy on my recent 4x4 trek through BC, Canada had the fire stone tires you talk about and took a stock Discovery II just about everywhere else guys who were fully locked went on A/T tires, and let me tell you, LOCKERS were a must!!
So, I was pretty impressed. They were new, so no clue on the mileage.
The longest lasting will be the BFG, either the A/T or M/T. Both will get you around 50K miles. The MT/Rs will get you around 35K I think if you baby them.

We put the 265/75/16 Firestone Destination MT's on last Saturday. We wont have a chance to test them out offroad till this weekend, but I will tell you these are the most amazing looking tires I have ever seen on just about any vehicle. Pics and Review to come next week sometime.

Ok, so the tires offically rock. Not only are they great looking but their performace is rock solid. We went offroading in the Kenosha Pass area over the weekend and the weather was terrible, but it made for some good conditions to try out the new tires. We played on wet and dry rock, mud and other conditions and the tires held up really well. We only lost traction 2 times during the trip and those were more user error than the fault of the tire themselves. Anyhow, I really love these tires and would not hesitate to reccomend them. Here are some photos of the tires and our trip. (Warning: Large images ahead) home.comcast.net/~scingram/IMG_0250.JPGhome.comcast.net/~scingram/IMG_0262.JPGhome.comcast.net/~scingram/IMG_0244.JPG
