I assume the 285 tire is equal to a 33'' tire, give or tke 1/2''. So, I did about 1-1/2'' Tbar lift up front to level out my 00' MS LS.
Will I be able to run 285/75x16 or 285/70x16.

you need a minimum of 2" lift and then there is a possibility you will still rub because of the width of the tire when the steering wheel is at full lock and the suspension is compressed completely.
That being said, our 01 XLS 4WD will have 255/85R16 BFG M/T km tires for its next set.
This is a 33" tire but is a bit more narrow than the 285 or 265 for that matter.
It is the same width as stock but just 3" larger in diameter, giving you 1.5" of more ground clearance.
I have though of going with some wheel spacers, I know a few people that custom make them to your specifications and running 295/75R16. With wheel spacers you would be okay for sure.
