I am looking to replace my problematic J**P. I am interested in early nineties Montero but know very little about them. How are they for power(towing small trailer), parts availibility/price, upgrading and reliability. I owned a few MItsu's in JApan when Iwas stationed there and enjoyed them immensely Any help thanks.

What are the problem areas I should look for. Ideally I would like a V-6 4x4 w/ manual what pitfalls may come with this arrangement?

Dude, this is a very basic and relatively uninformed observation.....from what I've seen the early '90's Pajero is easily and readily upgradeable and has a stout asian warner tranny but like other Mitsu gas powered trucks, is not a beast when it comes to towing....I just recently saw the MOST HOOKED UP MITS I have ever seen in my post "Hooked Up '91 Pajero" it was legit. I have seen many others that I thought were TOTALLY legit on the internet!!! The only problem area's I am aware of is when you crank the torsion bars, the angle of the cv axles may create some excessive stress on the joint itself, but like I said, I am relatively uninformed.
