I went to a Les Schwab to check my alignment, because my '01 MS pulls to the left a little bit. He said the alignment was fine, but that I had a bit too much positive camber on just the left front tire. It was at 1.14, when it should be zero with a leeway of about .5 positive or negative.
It looks like the front and rear quarterpanels have been replaced on the vehicle.
I'm just wondering what the most likely cause of the camber problem could be. He didn't charge me anything and said I should take it to an autobody place for them to check measurements. I just want to make sure I don't get screwed when I take it in to get checked.
Thanks.

camber problem? Hit a pothole?
Hit an uneven railroad track too fast too hard?
Jump your Sport?
Hit a curb?

Potholes or impact damage will almost always result in a negative camber to the front wheels. Either way, the camber angle is fully adjustable on the MS, regardless of whether or not the panels has been replaced (i take it you are not the original owner), he could have adjusted the camber right then and there instead of recommending a body shop. After all, that's what an alignment is isn't it? Joel, CA

That's what I thought, but he says he couldn't fix it. He said something about putting in a shim, but that the bolt wasn't long enough to put one in and still be able to tighten the nut.
I did just purchase the vehicle about 3 weeks ago.

I had the same problem with my brand new 03' sport. Dealer said it was in specs but my tire was wearing on the outside edge. I bought a shim pack and installed them. The passenger side was easy but the driver side was kind of a pain. It also took me a few times to get it right. I would put some shims in put everthing back together go for a drive and then I had a little to much negitive. After a while got it. Took it in for a alignment. Its all good now. Dealer was pissing me off by telling me it was ok when you could see it was way off. Fix it yourself (get it as close as you can)or take it to a good alignment shop.
