My 2000 Montero has a rattle that has the dealer, the factory rep, and me stumped. At 20 to 30 mph you can hear it very well and feel it in the steering wheel and floor boards. It has 45000 miles on it. Dealer has replaced the radius arm bushings, the upper A arms and now the ball joints. If it was a good ole ford pick up with twin I beam I'd say it was radius arm bushings need replaced. Or I would say that it had a loose or worn shock mount rubber. Anybody out there know what the problem is? I'm leaving on a 2500 mile trip on wednesday and I don't want to hear it. Thanks api499

Well, went on the trip, we got the montero from the dealer right before we left. They have replaced the upper a arm assembly, the "radius arm" bushings that end under the drivers seat and now the intermediate steering shaft. They even took it to the local spring and aliagnment shop for the steering shaft. It still rattles and now that we are back from the trip its been back to the dealer for another 2 weeks they have put on no new parts and claim to have inspected or tightened everything that they could. If anything the rattle is LOUDER!!!! Help me out people am I the only 2000 Endevour owner with this problem. The dealer gave us another 2000 with the same miles to drive for 2 weeks and it does not make the same rattle! You hear and feel the problem when you are going 20-40 mph and go over some washboards or hit a expansion joint in the road. Does not matter if you are holding pressure on the brakes or not so its not a loose fitting caliper. The dealer, their 6 mechanics, and the district manager, and now the spring shop are all stumped!!!! Somebody out there has the answer. Help me!!!!!! api499 Ps. soon it will be montero endevour
