I'm installing an amp for my sub, but I'm not sure where the best spot on the MS is. Standard would be the back of the back seats but then when I lay them down I'd always have to cover it and it wouldn't be a good spot. I was thinking under the passengers seat, there is a lot of room under there, but not much air flow (its a 600W peak, 300W rms amp). Any other ideas?
Where do you guys have your amps installed?
Thanks in advance, Eric

I have 2 amps and each one is under the front seats.... its a pretty easy install...just unbolt your seats, undo any wires if you have power seats and bold your amps to the floor...you can run your wires under the side plastics and have the wires come out under the carpet where the seat would go...then bolt your amp up and wire it...replace your seat and hide your wires all the way to the back...looks nice and you will have plenty of airflow to keep your amps cool...

Well with 300 watts you wont have to worry to much about over heating. Unless your running it at very low ohm loads. Under the seat is a good option just make sure no one can kick it. Iv'e installed my sub amp in the rear compartment in the very back. It never has heating problems but if it does I'll just rig 2 fans up for cooling. But I don't see it being a problem. If your good with fiberglass you could cut out the side cubbies and make a new one for your amp. But thats a little more labor then most care to fiddle with. Good luck.

Yeah.. i've got my amps in the rear compartment too.... 2 fans in a push/pull config keeps them nice and cool. Joel, CA

Actually, that picture was taken before i put the fans in- BUT even now, you can't see the wires of either the amps, or fans.

are you powering the fans by hooking it to the amp? or are you running it to a toggle switch?

I've got a seperate relay powering the fans. The relay is triggered by the remote turn of my deck.
