I own a '97 Montero Sport LS. My car has the standard 8 speaker setup (3 on each side in the front and two in each rear door). The front and rear doors have 6 1/2" speakers and the front tweeter openings are 1", I believe. However, I cannot figure out the specifications on the midrange speakers (just under the side air vents in the front). They look like they are 3 1/2" but I cannot tell.
I replaced the remaining front speakers with component Alpines, and the mechanic had to disconnect the midrange speakers because they were causing interference. I now want to upgrade them and any help on some specs would be greatly appreciated!
Also, I was planning on buying Alpines (to replace the stock midrange speakers), but does anyone have any other suggestions? I also have a sub and a 600W amp installed in the trunk.
