Greetings all,
I'm having some electrical problems that I can't seem to figure out and I'm hoping someone here might be able to shed some light.
My problem is that I have no power when I turn the ignition key to the ACC position. The interior lights, lighter, seat belt buzzer and engine check lights stopped working. I'm unable to unlock all the doors with the key on the driver side door. However, on the passenger door, I'm able to unlock all doors.
Some background...
1999...I installed a Pioneer unit with 12 disc cd changer from Crutchfield and added a 300watt amp with two 12" speakers in the back (I'm thinking of switching to 10s). The amp is powered via the 12v lighter plug in the back through a spliced connector from an old car vac I had. Everything worked great.
Fastforward to yesterday. I decided to go with an ipod connector and shelf the cd changer. The ipod cable I got from ebay. It's pretty straight forward as far as installing it (it didn't come with instructions). It plugged into the IP bus of the head unit and a seperate power and ground wire needed to be connected...which I did. I tested it with my ipod and it started charging it just fine. I finalizing the connections and put everything back into the dash. Sometime before or during the finalization, I lost ACC power.
I've checked the fuse block under the knee panel on the drivers side and under the hood and all fuses are still good. I've disconnected the head unit and amp to rule them out. Am I missing something? Where else could I possibly check?
