Has anybody seen or used this being sold on e-bay?
SPEED CHIP MITSUBISHI MONTERO SPORT +15HP
It looks like a resistor to me. What does is do? How does it work? Wil it damage the engine/computer?
cheers ed

From what ive gathered on previous posts, dont waste ur 5$. It just seems like it gives u the illusion of increased HP... just like when u give somebody a sugar pill and tell them its a miracle drug and they automatically feel better. not a great example, but i just like to hear myself talk.

the resistor tricks your ECU into thinking it's always in warm up mode, thus running richer, and what ever else the computer tells it to do. a little more gas, a little more power. not a great way to treat your truck.

I fell for this gimmick. I bought this $5 resistor because I'm trying everything possible to get more HP from the little 3.0 in my 97 XLS Sport. I have not installed it yet so I can't say if it works or not. The picture sent with the instructions is a general picture of a truck engine and is not vehicle specific. On my plug going to the mass air meter, there is seven terminals so I don't know which terminals the resistor plugs into. I've written to the seller but I have yet to get a response.
