Very much a newbie, here, so bear with me. I have an '02 XLS AWD, and even with the 3.5, my Sport is pretty slow. I love every other thing about it, though, and I'll keep it for a long time if I can just get some more power. My question is this: Is an Injen intake with an HKS exhaust and perhaps a hi-flow cat going to make a significant difference in power? Tell me the truth! I don't want to waste my money if I can't feel the difference in the seat of my pants.

Even with it breathing better from these mods, you're probably only going to get very minimal (<10hp) gains on a V6. Maybe with headers, a bigger TB and the fuel system optimized to make the best use of the increase in air flow, you might get to @25hp gain. Maybe more, maybe less.

Thanks for the reply. Any ideas on the headers and throttle body? What brands and where can I find them? So far in my web searches I'm only finding intakes and exhausts . . .

Headers are pretty much a dead issue, unless you fab, or have someone else fab some up. The MS really needs long tube headers to help with low RPM torque. Unfortunatly, that means having to have almost a whole new exhaust system done up because the header collector will not be in the factory position to mate up to the cats. A "shorty" type header could be done more easily as far as making it mate up to the cats, and would probably be a better bet for more top end HP. Quick rule of thumb for headers: Long primary tubes = more low RPM torque. Short primaries = more high RPM HP. As far as a bigger throttle body goes, cwic(on the forum) had his done. He would be the guy to get info from. He races his Sport, so in my opinion, he's one of the best people on this site to ask about any performance related questions. I hope this info helps and is accurate. Good Luck!
