i was told we have 3 converters on the sport... did anyone replace with a high-flow converter and get a benefit? i'm running a 3.5 with a magnaflow and air intake. wondering if it is worth getting the magnaflow converter put on>>?

I read somewhere of a guy with an Eclipse with the 3.0 and headers and exhaust throwing codes. Not sure what code, but something to do with the O2 sensors. From what I read it was equated to the fact that the headers and exhaust flow TOO WELL for the O2 sensors to heat up properly. Probably wouldn't be a problem if you leave the pre-cats, O2 sensors, and factory manifolds alone and just do the main cat. As for performance, I can't see how it would hurt!

By the way... could you post up a sound clip of the Magnaflow exhaust? And anybody else out there with aftermarket exhaust? Thought that a few guys had already done so, but I didn't feel like searching. Would be cool to start a thread for just exhaust sounds. At least I think so.

i'm going to switch out the main cat to a magnaflow hi-flow one and leave the pre cats alone- california emmissions are hard core and don't want head aches i'm gonna try to post the exhaust clip. definately change the stock along with an air intake will make you much happier

So... anyone got a sound clip? Really just tryin to decide on a possible exhaust this summer. Most likely an intake too. Was just trying to get a feel for what the the Mrs. would want. Performance gains are really not the most important factor here( can't believe I just said that!). Gas mileage on the other hand... and a nice, smooth, mellow sound are MUSTS!!! No way the "Old Lady" is gonna put up with something too loud or raspy. Does anyone make a muffler that makes a V6 sound like small block? Ok, seriously. Input, opinions, and testemonials are very much appreciated. Thanks.
P.S. TOTALLY WHIPPED!!! But if she were yours, you would understand!

magnaflow site has sound bites on it. so do some the others, just go to their sites and find out. none of them have the MS of course. i've heard gibson makes the quietest in cab muffler, also one of the most expensive. get what you pay for.

Thanks, I didn't even think about that. I'll take a listen.
