I will be starting a new intake mod project. I will be modifying the stock air intake to resemble a "Volant"(TM) like intake with a drop in K&N filter. Pics to follow. Hopefully I will get started this weekend 08/19/2006.
I got tired of my Weapon R dragon intake. I ran it for a year. I uninstalled it this past weekend, cleaned it and put it back in the box. I feel that it just moved the torque curve too high for my city driving.

Unsucessful. I didn't realize the resonators are also riveted to the airbox and snorkel I was successful in plugging the resonator on the intake tube that attaches to the throtle body with a rubber plumbing cap. So, I ended installing my K&N drop in and cleaning the MAF with some CRC MAF spray. I think I have a way of plugging the resonator by the airbox. I just have to browse home depot or lowes again and see what I can find.

New hope, I was just staring at the airbox and came up with an idea. There is hope, yet! More to follow.

i plugged all of mine with pipe clamps and pvc caps. take the tube into lowes and find one that fits. i dont rember the size but the smaller one was a tight fit. i still have them but i now have a alum tube. the rubber caps go over while the pvc caps will go in and disturb the air flow less. Clay

Can you post pics? I am thinking of cutting between where the resonator and airbox holes meet and where the resonator and the snorkel holes meet and using some high heat rubber patch with some strong plastic adhesive and place it between where the two meet to plug up the holes. I'd hate to try and remove the resonators and cause a tear where it's riveted.

this may have already been asked somewhere else, but as far as the stock MAS with an aftermarket intake, do you need to worry about reprogramming your MAS since with an aftermarket intake there is a higher air to fuel ratio?
