Thinking of getting the SUV 50 series or the 60 series in 2.25". My question is do I get the straight through pipe or one with a left or right offset?

i was crawling under mine yesterday thinking of getting a new muffler too. looks like a center/center would be ideal for a replacement. the stock one seems like it has a very slight offset inlet, like no more than an inch offset to the driver's side. i'm tempting to go center/center unless some one tells me otherwise. and i was planning on a gibson superflow muffler - they claim to be the quietest in-cab. i really do not want to hear the drone of a loud muffler, i just want the open flow. www.gibsonperformance.com/products.asp?pid=18352. prices on the web are about $70 for the Aluminized, 2.25'' X 2.25'' X 9'' X 14'', 20'' Overall Length, Ovalpart #13215. let me know what you think.

Thanks, you know I looked at Gibson as well. They have a full cat back for the Montero. I called them about a year ago and they said it will fit the Montero Sport, but he didn't sound confident in his answer. So I don't know. I really want to keep the torque curve in a usable RPM range and not move it up so much. I also want better flow when I'm on the highway.

I was thinking of ordering just the muffler, either from jegs or from gibson as you mentioned. jegs is selling the 50 series for about $89. Or I was thinking of going to the local Midas and buying it from them and asking them to bend some 2.25 pipe from the cat back. I'm still researching. I am asking around for a good muffler shop here in Las Vegas, maybe a good independent non franchise place that can offer good work and low pricing. Maybe I'll check with a local DSM club and see if they got any hook ups.
