ok, so I thought that the loud rumble coming from my car, was the muffler. Went online to flowmaster, found a muffler that I liked and was ready to buy it and have it installed. But before I did, I went by my local muffler shop to make sure they could do the job. They said I didn't need a new muffler, but my y pipe was cracked and that was the cause of the noise. I said ok, fix it. Here is the bad news, the pipe is only sold threw Mitsubishi and it costs $750. Out of all the pipe in the world, I break that one.

I've never looked under my Tero to look at the Y-pipe but usually, there are pre-cats on each leg of the Y-pipe, right after the exhaust manifold. These are smog devices and illegal if removed in some states. Just as callookzero said, some good exhaust shops can fabricate a Y-pipe and weld a flange at each end of the Y so it can bolt right up onto the exhaust manifold.

ok, so I get everything installed right. I bring the car home, park it. Come outside the next morning to find that one of my tips has been stollen. Taking a closer look at the only tip left, I see that it was clamped on. So the theft came by with a wrench, and took what he needed.
My question is, can chrome tips be welded on. I'll find out Monday when I go back up to the shop, pissed off.
