I work at a VW dealership, I work on the 30v 2.8 on a regular basis. Unless your grandmother was driving the car, there's no way your tero could beat it. I've done plenty to mine and I know it's a gutless pig as far as "racing" goes, but when it comes to trails and snow, it's pretty much unstoppable. Who knows why you think you need to run backroads in a truck. Just remember that SUVs roll over.

cause it's fun it's a great challenge and im aware they roll, i no my limits and in the case i stated origionaly i pushed it way to far, but for pig it dose carry momentum through corners pretty well, but it's deffinetly no performance car by any standard, but it's great for doing percision rally racing cause u can pack it full of nav gear, over night bags, parts, people, etc. and it's dose better on long haul percision rally's than the other cars i run with at my school, and it's great for taking offroad short cuts to (for those who don't no percision rallying is diffrent in that it's not as fast as you can go but how well you can pace yourself and navigate to hit a point exactly, to early or later than the set time and you loose points)
