Back from the dead. Yes for whoever asked, that's a Galant VR4 in the background, I've been modding mitsu's for about 10 years. That car is actually for sale now as a rolling chassis. I have to finish my montero asap before the snow flies. Im a full time college student and work almost full time hours so my time is very limited. I do most of my research at work and get to work on my truck about 3 to 5 hours a week.. yes, i said a week... "big" problem im trying to overcome is the transfercase, it's not so much a big problem because surprise surprise, the mitsu uses an AW4 transmission, which is also used in the jeep cherokee's and toyota supras, among MANY other applications, which is awesome because you can put a jeep tailshaft housing on and throw on a NP231 transfercase, this means slip yoke eliminators available for cheaper, gears, etc etc etc, and that means there is aftermarket support for our transmissions!!!! The AW4 is a known trans, so start telling people you need parts for an AW4 or "Aisan Warner" transmission, not a mitsubishi clunker. Some locating and measurements mitsushitty transfercase, otherwise known as the gigantic useless piece of ****. Trans still in the truck without the tail housing on it. jeep on the left, mitsu on the right, mitsu is freaking over kill jeep on the left again, gee, they look similar. 5 of the 7 bolts for the tail shaft housing require the tcase to be removed to get to them on the mitsu hosuing, on the jeep housing they're all external, this is the housing that must be changed to use an NP231 transfercase. backside of jeep one jeep sensor compared to the old mitsu sensor, i NEED to get a 1998 or newer output shaft housing to clear up this problem, the 98+ sensor looks just like mine. So disregard these sensors as i'll have updates with a newer housing in the weeks to come.
