So far have put about 4000 miles on our new 4x4 ES and love it to death. But don't see too many Mits products -- are they reliable and durable? thanks

What are you looking for? But your right, there isn't much out there for the 97-99 MS and even less for the 00-02. And the stuff that is out there is hard to find. But that doesn't mean it's not reliable and durable. I think the MS is a very reliable and durable 4x4. We have over 60000 miles on are 98 MS and we take it off-road too. And it runs great, with no major problems! So far have put about 4000 miles on our new 4x4 ES and love it to death. But don't see too many Mits products -- are they reliable and durable? thanks

cool thanks -- actually I didn't mean add-on-products rather the car/truck itself :-)

johnner2002es,
I've seen several 97's with over 150k and many full size Monty's (with identical 6G72 3.0l 24V V6) with over 300K original miles. Not too bad if you ask me.. ;D.

I have beaten the living crap out of mine.. As far as I know there are only 2 in the US running 33"s with 6"lift. me and coloradosport. and we both push ours to the extreme
I just hit 85,000 miles last week.. Zero problems with the engine.. I did have a ac line leak( i think it's because of the high speed offroading and jumping) other then that, their built like tanks.. It's the only mid sized suv out there that is using the same engine, trany,... pretty much everything but the body from a full size truck! You can not touch that with anything else out there! Thats why they weigh so dam much. the original 2doors were over 4,000lbs! Every body in the rest of the world will contest that these things are pretty much indestructable..
ok.. my 2cents

Ok, so I don't jump mine.:-) But, I've got 120K on my 97 ( www.geocities.com/es_97sport/ ) and I've only had one CV go out and that wierd control box for the fuel pump - God only knows what that was about. Otherwise, like DC I've thrashed mine severly. The Dana 44s are under mine only because I needed more durability then the factory componets could give me - specifically the CV joints. My friends '98 had 48K on it and its been wonderful. Not a hitch. One major thing that can be done to increase the life span on the front drivetrain is to add the manual locking hubs on the 97-2001 - PRE all wheel drive models. Not spinning the entire assembly ALL THE TIME will cut down on at least some normal wear and tear. Edward 4x4 Extreme Sports www.geocities.com/es_97sport/
