Custom fit for Montero Sport - Shackles and Rock Guards Hey! I've finally gotten the information on custom rock guards SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED for the Montero Sport! You can get an idea of what they look like by takeing a look at the ones on my black Sport on www.geocities.com/es_97sport/. THOSE are actually from All-Pro and designed for Toyota. The Sport bars will not have the "wing" and will have more braceing - due to the longer length of the vehicle. Come with the legs and mount plates attached and gusseted. The interior bars will be a cross-hatch pattern rather then straight tubes. The body will be out of 2" and 1 3/4" tube, with 2" legs and 1/4" mount plates. Ready to paint and mount. AND, I managed to find a place to make the shackles for the leaf sprung Sports, too! Any length, which means you can tailor the back to the front lift. These will be direct replacements. No wierd shimming, etc. involved. Edward www.geocities.com/es_97sport/

That's cool! I am thinking to have Rockstomper do mine. They will look more or less like yours. Rockstomper has weld on ones now. So you can custom fit them at any length or angle. So, who did you find to do the Rock Guards? and how much? By the way I will have Rancho 9000 shocks in the front now too. They will be installed real soon. sooo how much for the rockers.. I was going to have allpro make a custom one that about 2" longer for about $300 but that not install and with out the legs connected..so add a couple more $ to that for the cutting and install. now if you can get ones that are already setup and just need to be painted then welded on.. for a better price i'm there.. that has been one of the most important mods I still have yet to do.. (been very lucky)

Cool! Yea, got to love the RS9000s! The bars are $300. Yea, I imagine we could as long as the modifications weren't too radical.:-) Skidplate give me a buzz when you get the chance. (303) 229-0828. The bars are $300.00 + shipping. These will be considerable longer then 2". The bars I have from All Pro are about 6-8" too short four our Sports and they were the closest All Pro had. And, these will have the legs - 4 instead of three - installed with gusseted 1/4" backing plates where they attach to the chassis. 2" and 1 3/4" tube for the body and internal tubing and 2" legs. Technically, the body probably won't be any stronger then All Pro's since both use 2" and 1 3/4" tube but using four legs vs. three like mine has will make a significant difference in load carrying capacity on the bar not to mention it'll spread shock and the load out more evenly. They're completely assembled - where other's aren't - and taylored SPECIFICALLY to the Sport. Personally, I'm sick of "bandaids" and "hacks" to get Toy, etc. parts to almost, just about, kinda work about right. That's the point of 4x4 Extreme Sports - parts deisgned and built with our Sport priorities first. The only thing you may have to do on the Sport as far as modifications before mounting the bars is remove the rear vibration dampeners on the sides of the chassis right in front of the rear wheels. That is if you haven't already knocked them off on a rock. They're kinda useless in my opinion. I knocked one off and then finally the other and I never could tell any difference in the vehicle. Mine still rides smooth as glass anyway. The other thing is you'll need to unbolt the fuel filter bracket and move the line a little out of the way so you can weld the rear plate. I say MAY because these locate in a slightly different place then mine do and its entirely possible that you won't. As soon as I have an order we'll jig up the bars and I'll know for sure. I do know that at the absolute WORST you'll need to remove the dampeners and move the filter a tiny bit - because that's all I had to do for mine. I think ours are very competitive with All Pro's. I don't know what it costs there but it ran about $160 - 2 hours of labor - to mount mine - cutting and attaching legs and everything. The only thing ours need is welding the bars to the chassis and paint. The welding shouldn't take more then 1/2 and hour even if you do it at home. This is how much rockstomper.com charges. Weld on nerfs are available for all rail-framed vehicles in custom lengths. Bolt-on single tube nerfs are $175 per pair. Thats un-painted Weld-on dual tube nerfs are $250 per pair. Thats un-painted + shiping. Steve sooo how much for the rockers.. Yes, BUT, these are not ready to weld on. The legs have to be cut and welded as well as backing plates and gussets. Unless you're prepared to do all that yourself, you still will end up paying another 80-160 to have them attached. Our bars are ready to weld on. No extra cutting or welding beyond just welding them to the chassis. Edward This is how much rockstomper.com charges. Weld on nerfs are available for all rail-framed vehicles in custom lengths. Yep, rockstomper charges $100.00 to install. So $350.00 isn't all that bad of a price. Yes, BUT, these are not ready to weld on.
