I have a 92 Montero that was having 2 problems: 1. It would start only about half the time. 2. When the engine was running (driving or at idle) I would sometimes hear a click in the right side of the dashboard and immidiately following the engine would die.. or almost die. So I take it to a shop here and they say they cant figure it out. So I take to another one and they say it needs a new distributor (for the not starting problem) and it needs a new computer(for the clicking problem). But the computer was $1000 so instead they installed a bypass switch that i have to flip on and off when i want to start or turn off the montero. Anyway, I get it home and the first time i try to start it it wont start. Still starting about half the time. But I have not heard the clicking at all...I dont know if thats just because i haven't been driving it much. Anyway, if any of you have had similar problems please let me know what you did. Thanks for the help.

You could try getting a used computer for alot less from a junkyard or something. The junkyard by my house has specials all the time for like 79.99 all you can carry. Just a thought. Good luck.
