I'm a new ownere of a 02 MS and new to this website which by the way i have found it to be very helpful and informative. Anyway I am interested in installing a DVD audio system in my MS but the charge at the dealer to get this install is pretty high! any ideas as to what other route i can go? i wanted the screens install in the actual headrests just like the dealer would install them. thanx

If you are wanting a wole system you would be alot better off going to a custom car audio store if you have one in your area. You could even go to Circuit City and get it done. If you go to the dealer they will charge you way to much. An aftermarket store such as the ones I mentioned above will make it look just as good, probably better than the dealer and charge you alot less. But thats just my advice. Of course it would be even cheaper if you did it your self. Hope I helped you out a little man.

The reason it costs so much is they take it to a local electronics store and have them install it and mark it up so they make a pretty hefty profit. Save yourself a couple hundred dollars and take it in yourself and avoid the huge mark up.
When I purchased my Sport in 2000 I asked how much extra it would cost to have the front 2 windows tinted and they quoted me $150; however the salesman was a pretty honest guy (hard to find a honest salesman) told us the company that the dealer used and went and had them done for $30 and that was the expensive tint.

dont go to circuit city they are cheap use cheap materials and do a cheap job. your custom car audio shop would be the best. make sure it is a reputable shop. some places will rip you off if it's obvious you dont know what to look for. shop around.. don't rush

I installed a mp3, dvd, player in the slot below where the factory radio was...and put a 7 in screen where the old radio was... hten put 6 in screens in the head rest.. I did it all myself and it looks extremely profession and perfoms excellent with the sound system I put in it... the best bet is to look on the internet for everything you need and to find someone you know to do the work for you at a cheaper price.. I put all of my stuff in for under a grand.. that was player 3 screens subs and amps... and all wires... but I have exsperience in that area so pay some one you know who is cappable of doing it for you ... you save about 2 grand this way
