yo, bd... how is your hho going? I've been looking at a lot of forums about hho and am interested in my making my own wet cell to try out. As a first try do you think just making one of those smack jars with a spiral wire would do anything? I was thinking of just t-ing it into the vacumm line, but I could add a hole in my intake tube by the the throttle body too. I was not going to do an O2 extender or an EFI just yet. You were claiming 35+ mpg. Are you still getting that? What is your set up and what would you do different if you could? Thanks.

well do not use any type of glass jar at all. and you must also use a bubbler or flashback arrestor in-line with your hose running to your throttle-body to eliminate any destruction of your cell. Also I would buy a dry type from smack himself as it is waaaaay easier to install and upkeep is easy as well. I am getting around 30-35 on the highway with an efie enhancer or fuel air ratio/tuner. I am happy to help in any way to get you going:)

I also would use potassium hydroxide for my electrolite. Or sodium hydroxide. The 316L stainless steel seems to not rust at all compared with the cheap 304L stainless steel wal plates from lowes or home depot that rust after a few months. It is a very cheap inexpensive alternative fuel source that makes your engine run smoother quiter and longer not to mention great gas mileage.

how hard is it to do the EFI? did you have one or two O2 sensors to hook up?

I just got the APECI-II that cwic or somebody recommended off of this site and it works fine. All you do is lean out your fuel at a safe level, and then add in your hho kit and it compensates for the lost fuel. If you dont put an EFIE kit on your computer will overcompensate and dump in even more fuel. I just hooked up to my maf sensor and it works okay so far. I have thought about going to 02 simulators though instead and getting rid of my cats.

do the planet a favor and keep the cats! i look on ebay for dry cell systems and man, there are a ton. and some are dif out of my price range. i was thinking of getting a dry cell and making all the other parts. but i'd need some plans. have you any sources for plans that would include the bubbler, wiring, how to make the mix, and i guess in a dry cell you need a reserve tank too. not quite sure on that.

ya the tank is just a feed for the water and electrolite to go to the cell. All the spare parts can be purchased at mcmaster-carr.com, also Our montero sports are frequency based not voltage based which means we need a special efie device like the jegs air/fuel moniter or as I said before the apecII. The dry cell are expensive but think of how fast it will pay itself off when you start getting anywhere from 28-40 miles to a gallon. Even more if you add on more units.
