So today when I tried starting my MS, after I turned the key and it was on, like 5 seconds later it just died. It happened 3 times so I decided to give it some gas and then it started right up. I've never had to give it gas to start, so any ideas what's goin on?

So, you started it and while it was starting (turning over) you stepped on the gas pedal? Making it rev a little higher than usual? Maybe a weak battery? Get it tested if you think so. I just picked up a new battery from Autozone (Duralast Gold) Great price, same model as Optima yellow top half the price! 3 years of roadside/free replacement, pro-rated at 8 years, definitely a good time for batteries as winter approaches...found out mine was 100 CCA below the recommened, some small a** lawnmower battery! haha.

I got a 1000 CCA NAPA EXIDE battery and it nearly throws the starter off every time.

No Monty, the second I had turned the key, I stepped on the gas and it worked, but the past 3 or 4 times it hasn't had the problem so it could have been just a one time deal. I went to Auto Zone and had my battery tested for free and they said it was fine, so who knows what it was.

Am i reading your post wrong?? You say you turned it to the on position (not cranking) and five seconds later all the electrical died? Or you turned it on (crank crank vroom running) then five seconds later it died (quit running)?

get some carb cleaner and clean the throttle body...and more special the idler motor ....i am saying the throttle body because just before the accelerator butterfly opening there are some little holes.....those are going in the chamber below to the idler motor.....clean good just in case you still need the info..
