hey guys, im sure this has been posted on the forums before but thought id put my 2 cents in...
i used to has the problem of the lifters or lifter ticking when it was cold outside or the motorwas not warmed up yet, it was embarasing and annoying. So i looked around and say the first thing to try was Seafoam. I went to Napa and bought a 16oz can for 7 bucks then went home and started the truck, pulled the PCV valve out and poured in 1/3 of the bottle into the valve, then pouredd 1/3 the bottle in with the motor oil, and then put the last 1/3 bottle in the gas tank. I ran the motor up to about 2500 to 3000 rpms and all the smoke started to pour out the exhaust. drove around for a while and there seemed to be no more ticking. my guess is the oil passage ways were getting a little clogged. so just to make sure it was gone. i let it sit over night and started it this morning and the ticking is gone! not to mention i replaced the fuel filter and changed the air filter, (116k on stock fuel filter). im hoping to get around 20mpg hopefully, i was getting around 350 ish miles to a tank. hope that improves.

I have an o2 Sport. With 180000 miles I should probably do this also. Where is the PCV valve noted above located? Thanks, Steve

driver side engine valve cover. Its a plastic piece in an L shape. You should be able to pop it out.
