Hi,
Got the stock infinity setup on my 1997 and the speakers sometimes cut out when I hit a roadbump. I took the headunit out and discovered the problem is the radio cable jack (the one next to the antenna jack) not seating properly into the headunit. Does anyone know what kind of cable that is and where the other end of the cable terminates? Can I also try splicing the cable near the headunit so I don't have to rip up the car to find the other end?
Thanks,

I would venure a guess that the problem may be the Jack in the headunit. But that wire runs all the way back to the right rear side panel, where the Amp is. If you know it's the DIN connector that is broken or intermittent, it can be disassembled and repaired, but you will need to slit the connector down both sides, remove some of the wire jacket, the the two metal halves of the din plug will separate, and a small white/clear plastic insulator covers the wires. Hack off about 4 inches, and re solder to the existing din plug. re assemble and bind it back together with either elecricalt tape or sealing tape.
one or two speakers dropping out can also be an Amp failure (rare) or shorted out door tweeters. (common, water gets in there and rusts them.)
Good luck. I've got a schematic of the din plug somewhere... I'll try to find it.

mine was doing the same thing little over a year ago but, it was the face plate making a bad connection. got tired of messing with it and bought an aftermarket. streaming music via bluetooth is so nice and now i can add 4 more speakers . if it's like mine it has two antenna inputs, the din out to the factory amp, and another din in for factory CD changer.
