Well after researching the rustoleum $50 paint job on youtube, I decided to take it on myself. I have to say that it is looking good and it also helps that the hot Vegas sun is speeding up the curing process. Day I got her Jul 22 2011: Sanded off the clearcoat Aug 20 2011 I've always wanted different grill with the emblem looking like its floating in the center.

That looks insanely good! I am actually getting ready to shoot mine flat black, What did you use to spray the paint with? how long did the whole project take?

It took me about 2 wks. The f'd up part is taping the car off. since it was 2 toned, that really took a lot of time in between the curing process (you cant tape off on the newly painted surface for about a week) I used rustoleum oil based 1qt royal blue, 1qt gloss white, 1qt semi black and mixed 1:1 with mineral spirits. Shot it with hvlp and a 20 gal compressor. Spray paint will cost too much and wont lay down even. Check out youtube and the $50 paint jobs. But I wouldnt go completely flat on it...Go semi gloss black and mix it with gloss white. It'll look flat and wont feel rough. Its hard to upkeep flat paint.

Yeah I wouldn't go just plain flat, just not gloss either. I wont have to tape off everything, just the windows and stuff. Did you do it all outside? or inside?

If you meant where I painted, I did it inside my garage with 3 20 inch fans blowing out...I did it during the while the neighbors are at work. I told them about it too, but its so dry here that when overspray gets to them, its prolly dust. lol

Just a follow up. Two years after the paint job, it still looks as good as the day I painted it. I dont care what anyone says they can laugh all they want but this is one durable paint. Not garaged and under the Vegas sun. This was taken this morning:

Hey bro, I have a quick question. I'm interested in buying fog lights for my mitsubishi montero sport. Do we have to remove the pre-installed cover in front? Is there any way we can move it? Advanced thanks!!

How hard was it and what prep went into the rubber bits, the door guards.

I love the Pinstripe bits that say Montero Sport that looks fantastic! How hard was it and what prep went into the rubber bits, the door guards. Thanks. The rubber bits that go on the rear reflector are exactly the same size as the door guard inserts. I actually just did these inserts yesterday but I'm not liking it. I've had the pinstripe and the MS sticker for about a year. I just scuffed the surface a little to get some grip.
