Hey guys,
I put in a Pioneer X6500BT Headunit into my wife's 2003 Infinity wired MS Limited. Everything worked out pretty great except for the rear speakers are not playing sound even half as loud as the front. I faded the system completely to the rear speakers and still no improvement. There is still sound and some bass coming out but not what i expected.
I didn't trouble shoot too long...but I think I'm going to swap back in the stock HU to see if it plays louder with it installed. I never sit in the back so I don't have a good benchmark if it worked when the original was in.
Any other thoughts. All connections were solid before I put the unit back in place. Bluetooth, CD, Radio, mic all work as advertised but just to the front speakers loud and rear low/quiet.
Hrmmmmm....
Thanks,
Jeff

Are the stock crossovers maybe cutting out the midtones for like BT voice, etc?

Well unless you bought a unit with 4 pre outs for the stock amplifier system, youre going to have issues with sound. How did you end up installing the output of the new hu?

Only replaced stock unit.....
I have 4 preouts and colors match up with diagram from Crutchfield and with forum. Pretty much the biggest wiring was
Red +12 Volt Accessory Yellow +12 Volt Constant Blue Power Antenna Orange Illumination - Taped off
+
HRC-MIT Harness for Mitsubishi - Blue/White wired in with blues and RCA jacks matched up to correct speakers.
Everything has sound coming to it.....its just that the front two midtones are fine and the tweeters/door speakers and speakers in rear doors are faint. If you put your ear up to them you can hear them playing the songs/sounds....only thing is that it is quiet and doesn't compliment the 2 loud speakers like it should. My wife doesn't complain because she can still Bluetooth on phone, listen to music, etc...but when I drive its like..blah this isnt right...lol
Thanks for reading.

The factory speakers are partly to blame. Also the sound stage up front with an infinity set up has 3 speakers. A bass driver, midrange, and tweet vs the single in the back. Also the fact of the placement of the fronts are higher up and the placement of the rears by the seat. Just put some 2 ways in the rear on mine and made a huge difference. Component set up would be the best bet and mount the tweeter on the top left corner of the door panel. Next I'm going to see about putting a spare set of 6x9's in the tailgate and run them off the head unit.
