My old IAC didn't look all that dirty, but it sure didn't work right even after cleaning.

the can of BG 44K and the change to premium gasoline has significant positive responses on my monty....wasn't experiencing the same hesitations anymore and P401 CEL hasn't reappeared yet....still crossing my fingers...

I saw this thread after I bought or I might have gone with the warranty. Hopefully it lasts but 20 bucks is super cheap.

Just keep an eye out for any odd issues that may arise. Ed mentioned that the IAC is wired directly into the ECM, and if a circuit blows on a cheap valve it can raise havoc with the ECM. I've been watching mine closely, but it's performing well.

Will do. Thankfully she is running pretty smoothly.

Update on my IAC. This has not completely corrected my issue. My idle is not as rough as it used to be but as the vehicle has learned the new one the idle has roughed back up a bit. I did clean my TB before installing this as recommended.

I never got any codes. Just a not a smooth idle. It was rougher before the new IAC. So it is helping, but that isn't my whole problem. Or maybe I don't have a problem and I have just been driving the newer Infiniti too much...

Well you might have to buy a slightly more expensive IAC and see if that helps! Mine is running so smoothly right now after replacing the IAC along with a plug and wire job, I have to turn off the my HVAC to hear it.

Did you reset the idle after replacing the IAC? If you didn't it probably went back to what it was used to. There is a list you have to do to actually reset the idle and not just pull the negative battery cable.

Or maybe I don't have a problem and I have just been driving the newer Infiniti too much... I'm with bd. I replaced mine a couple weeks ago before heading out to Moab. Didn't have time to do more than pull the old one and slap the new one back in. It idled 'ok', but not nearly as smooth as they normally do. I followed the recommendation from my old senior tech - reset the ECM/PCM, start the vehicle up and let it idle without touching the gas for 20 minutes. Everything was back to normal when it was done. Edward
