I guess I am lucky and my luck is soon to run out if I keep pushing off replacing the seals haha.

little hard to see but the black is much like your tape idea. Can you take a pic from above? I'll take one of mine and post as well.

Work interferes with a lot of my project, cam seals being one of them.

I bought some hi temp 3" aluminum "tape" and stuck a square over the top of my new alt. without sealing the ventilation openings. Hope that keeps any future oil leaks out if they ever show up. DC, did you put the shiny side away or facing the alternator? Dull side faces the alternator, shiny side faces the engine. You don't want the dull side facing the engine. That'll pump all the engine heat into the alternator and prevent the heat generated by the alternator from escaping. Edward

The sticky side against the alt. is dull.. it's tape. The outside is shiny. _ JP, where is your shield located? I still don't see it in any of the pics. Is it just a black cover on the backside?

yeah....I didn't say it was a Superman Shield...haha but it was at least something. Your tape looks like a better solution.

The sticky side against the alt. is dull.. it's tape. The outside is shiny. .... Cool. Just checking. Not everyone knows this stuff is directional and I've seen different kinds of tape depending on its purpose. Edward

The mud guards? Ya I don't do any off-roading, at least not intentionally.
