What year? Which design is on your truck? I know there are 2 designs. The raised roof rails like mine and the low design that ties in with the top roof pinch weld.

Hi, well I find out from the ebay seller that the OEM cross bars he has for sale will not work, mine are the raised rails with no channels, this all started because I have to take a 8ft ladder to a job site. I will post a pick of my top rails., Thank you for the reply. Attachments:

I bought a pair of cheap cross rails on ebay for about $55 and they fit these side rails perfectly.

Well I found the OEM roof rack at my local parts yard, here is the 2 pictures, it appears that you have to fit these in the channels outside the factory front to back rail which mine have the rubber molding covering the channel, I hope I don't have to drill holes and maybe the holes should already be in the channels. Mine is a 2001 XLS.

You have the same as me and you have the exact question I had... LOL! here: msport97.proboards.com/thread/8493/roof-racks?page=2 Someone stated that the cross rails off a SantaFe with fit ours if you cut down the bar between the end caps? I have not verified this. I want to get a set at a local yard and see how easy it is to remove the end caps to even get to the bar. Then test fit the ends on a sport at the yard to be sure all it right. Just a bit scared to pull the trigger on a ebay set and be wrong. here is the thread: msport97.proboards.com/thread/4691/modified-crossbars-fit

Hey thanks for the reply, yes identical roofs we have, I read your post from the link and read the other post about the santa fe crossrails, it looks like a complete removal of the interior head liner and surrounding moldings just to install the factory OEM bone yard one I found and Edward mention that may as well replace the sound barrier paper to. I was so hoping that the OEM bone yard one would just bolt in with existing holes but that sure isn't the case without the R&R of the liner and drilling holes, Yikes . So now I will look into a after market cross rail set that will fit. Not sure what I will find.
What was the type of roof rails we have called? Thank you for your input here redraif.

I was looking today and found a set of Thule that are set up for the sport, but they are pricey.... they are the new lower profile design... you have to buy 2 at $158... then add the locks... ugh! Thule AeroBlade Edge Raised Rail S (1 bar) www.amazon.com/dp/B009NN8GVK/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_8m75vbJF6K86C7501 (small) is the right one for us if I remember correctly As for what ours, are called... Thule calls them raised rails...
