Here is the response from the guy that purchased his leather kit for the Oddysey. Sounds like the door panels may be hard. Heres the reply and my response follows:
The armrests on the Odyssey are very simple. I'm not sure about the Montero. The old ones unzip, and there's a bolt that secures it to the seat. Undo, the bolt, and remove the armrest, and slide off the old cover and install the new cover, which also zips on.
The Montero might be completely different. As for the door panels, I haven't done them, and I probably won't. The door skin needs to be completely removed, which is more than I care to do.
Good luck.
My opinion.. I think when he says door skin, that is exactly what he means. The whole door panel. Which if he knew is somewhat simple to remove at least from any other vehicle I have owned. According the to website when replacing the cloth door panels with the vinyl, they recommend that we leave the cloth panel on the door as you get a better fit and finish. Sorry this doesn't help much be with his Honda and our MS, we aren't comparing apples to apples. I will email the leather people and see how soon they will have the kits made and if they will be on ebay or we can order them directly.. Loren

My leather kit should be on its way here this week. The leather guy told me he would have it today and would ship it out as soon as he checked it out. Getting excited. I will post pics when it gets here and progess as to installation if things go well. This is going to be another family fight I can tell. I usually reserve family working together for X-mas when we get new entertainment centers or desks etc. and I need the wife to follow directions while I skip to step 5. Loren

sweeeeeeeet BTW, I have a 60/40 rear seat with the center armrest. Is there a way to use these covers with that? Will I have to just cover the armrest up? Not a huge deal, my daughter's car seat is blocking it now anyway, but I would like to keep the armrest if I can.

its the rear seat fold down ratio...one part folds down with the center console while the other just folds down the seat.

I better check with Jason at Auto Leather Inc. I just assumed that all MS had the 60/40 rear seats as my last vehicle has them also.
Here is a copy of his latest email as I thought they were going to be available this week. email as follows:
Loren, did I tell you that they were coming this week? Because if I did I apologize, they are coming next week for sure. We are getting one but maybe 5. Let anyone on the forum know that I will be holding those other 4 for them at that price. If they don't sell we will be putting them on Ebay fo $385 plus shipping. Thanks and I will keep you posted on when they come in. Thanks. Jason ----- Original Message ----- From: K. Loren Sisler To: Auto Leather Inc. Has the leather seat kit arrived at your place yet. If so, I will send the money via paypal. Thanks Jason. Loren

It's not the 60/40 part that I'm concerned with. It's more the built in armrest. I don't know if all the split seats have it or not. Some of the other leather kits I've seen didn't seem to allow for it.
Also, how can I reserve one of those kits?

I sent them an email to see about the rear console/arm rest and about reserving one of these kits. Let you know what I hear. if you go to ebay and type in Montero Sport leather kit you should find the beige kits that are for sale. There's a pic at least. Loren

Ok just went to ebay. typed in montero sport leather.
The picture really doesn't help out at all. Just a picture of leather front seats but they look good. So I don't know yet about the rear console but will update on Friday when I hear from the seller. Loren

Ok here it is. Yes the leather seat kit does cover the arm rest in the rear seat 60/40 split. If you want to reserve a set you can email Jason at
alinc1@sbcglobal.net
Remember I have no stake in this company. I just found him on the web and talked him into getting a grey kit made. So I am too waiting for my kit to get in. Loren

Oh well, thought I'd ask. I'd still much rather have leather than the arm rest anyday. Thanks for checking though. I e-mailed them today about reserving a kit for me.

Loren Hey thanks a million for getting this thing rolling. I saw the same beige kits and thought about asking if they had grey, but figured "if they did, they would be listing them", so I never did. Goes to show it never hurts to ask.

Has the leather kit seller or anyone else been able to confirm if these kits fit the 2003 Sport? I checked some online Mitsu dealers parts lists and it looks like all the seat parts are the same from 99 on up. I really want this kit in grey, but I just don't know if they will fit my 2003. Thanks.
