If you go on ebay and type in montero sport and do some searching, you will find some beige leather seat kits for 300 bucks. I emailed them and they replied that they are looking into making a grey kit and said they would notify me if they made them. I would suggest that everyone go to ebay and email them asking for grey. Soon enough they will realize the need we have and make us the kit. The company is Custom Leather Inc. I haven't looked to see if they have a website. Also on ebay a gentleman with the user id of leatherman15 has a ton of kits for other cars. keep checking and maybe he will have a MS kit. I'm hoping if we put enough pressure on these guys, they will make our kits. I'd sure buy one for 300 bucks. Loren

I emailed Jason tonight at Custom Leather Inc. asking him for instructions on how to install these myself. Will let you know what I find out. I can't wait for these to get made as this is the one thing my MS needs as I have 2 kids under 3 years old. Hard to remove a sucker from the cloth door panels.. I did read somewhere RTF on think on Truckmoxie.com that someone bought these and paid another 400 to install. But someone else did it themself and took about 1 evening per seat. We'll see. Loren

I am not sure if we have the hog rings or the velcro. But hog ring pliers and the rings are cheap and you can grab them at a hardware store. I will take a lot of pictures for the DIY when my kit comes. I haven't even ordered it yet since they still haven't been made at the factory. Auto Leather had to order them 1st.
As for the body Kits RTF, I think the biggest challenge will be to get 10 people to agree with the same kit. Maybe not since there are not many kits available to choose from on the MS. I don't know if I am going to get a kit as I have two kids but I haven't decided just yet. If it comes down to me or not kit for the rest of you, I'll pony up the dinero. The Challenger looks too sweet. Loren

yeh...whatever...i don't have too much faith in it...i'd rather get leather then pay for a bodykit...i was just interested in a free kit, but i'd still have to pay for paint...we'll see what happens... thiss leather is sounding good...if you do it with no prob...i'll look into it...you have NO previous experience with install right...like a total novice?...

Novice for sure. No clue what I am doing, but I will take pics when I remove the cloth so I have an idea what to do when I install the leather. I am going to go on ebay and email some people that have purchased other kits and see what kind of experience they had installing it on their own. will update you. I am excited about this kit as I didn't want to drop a grand for new leather.

Here is a reply from an Ebay user that purchased a leather seat kit from the person we are considering. Here is the email I received from him.
I just finished installing the leather seats last week. It takes a lot of strength to pull on some of the covers and get the clips to attach. I would definitely do it myself. Two essential tools, some type of clipping pliers or snips to cut the old hog rings out in a tight area, and hog ring pliers to put in the new clips. At first I thought I wouldn't need the clips. I used plastic sinching ties. These are too brittle in our cold climate in Utah. So, I bought a kit with the pliers and rings off eBay--see link below. This enables you to push down on the connection wires and clip them in one motion. Saved a lot of time and holds better. I tried to find these locally. Home Depot or Fred Meyer didn't carry them. I checked the local IFA, and they had a huge pair with big rings.
The quality of the seating seems good. There is a thin layer of foam on the leather surfaces. You will have to cut the vinyl for the armrests, mounting bolts, head rest holes, and others. All cuts are hidden.
I was very time-consuming. I would try to do one seat after work, and it would take me about 3 hrs per chair. The rear bench took about the same. I would suggest you pay close attention to how the old cover is removed. The new covers aren't exactly the same as the old covers for the Odyssey, but close enough. They fit great.
You can't beat the price. If he sold the covers for a Caravan, I'd do my parents car.
Best of luck.

hope this helps some. Loren
