Those look like a pain to remove, buying those others listed might be more cost effective

What are a pain to remove? The contour fans or the mark VIII?

The radiator and fan on mine is one assembly. You unhook two connectors and 4 10mm bolts and the whole thing pulls straight out. ;D

Well for grins and giggles I am looking at connectors from Ford focuses and mustangs to try and match them to the Contour. Painstaking task. Lol

The radiator and fan on mine is one assembly. You unhook two connectors and 4 10mm bolts and the whole thing pulls straight out. ;D pinstryper, "hard to remove" from a donor Ford or from a Sport after its installed?? It only took me a about 30 minutes to pull one in the lot but that was because the front end was damaged. The second one I pulled took, like, 10 minutes. I don't know how BD has his installed in his Sport. I think his would be a lot easier to pull than mine. I have the same two connectors, but four studs on my radiator with nuts. I have a REALLY thick radiator - its like two 1.25" tubes wide + fins. Around 4" thick total. Right on the hairy edge of being so thick with the fans that there isn't enough room behind it for proper air flow. So, with the brackets on the bottom and the outlet tube on the bottom its a real PITA to get the fans out separately. Way easier to pull the whole assembly. After I drain the radiator, I can pull the entire assembly in 5 minutes. Two hose clamps and the four bolts on the top of the radiator support and the lifts straight out. Honestly, its always been faster for me to just pull the radiator even with the stock radiator. Then I don't even have to get under the vehicle. Edward

Pinstryper do the electric fan conversion! I think I did mine in 2013?? It clears up a ton of room in the engine bay and takes off the weight of the manual fan and shroud...etc. I obviously have a huge THANKS to Ed for the idea. Other than the F5 controller that I found he still had spot on pointers and took all the research and guess work out of the mix.;D

I did find this for anyone dealing with a possessed temp gauge.
What actually needs to be replaced is the printed circuit on the back of the cluster. Unfortunately the same circuit also contains the memory for the odometer, so if you just replace the board, the odometer will be zeroed out. What they mean by "re-calibrating" is actually sending the old unit and replacement unit in to a company called "Specmo" to have the new odometer info imprinted in the new memory/circuit. I called Specmo today and the price is $102 and that includes overnight shipping back to you. If you google TSB-07-54-002, you'll see the mitt TSB for sending the units in. I'll let you all know how mine goe
