That I do not know. I would speculate that they are. Ed has messed with them a lot more than me though.

Are these brushless motors generally? That I do not know. I would speculate that they are. Ed has messed with them a lot more than me though. Some are and some are not and I can't tell you which are what. I think. Spal FAN-PWM-v3 documentation: I never had a problem with my Rock Auto Contour fans. I have no idea where they came from or who made them - just aftermarket OEM replacements from China so I PRESUME they were brushed. According to Spal engineering - to whom I've spoken to many times over the years - the OEM Ford motors would not work on the Spal because they were brushless. I currently have an OEM set of Ford Motorcraft fan motors plugged in and I don't APPEAR to have a problem. They work the same as my original China ones did. Originally, I thought I DID have a problem but it looks like that was an electrical bugaboo caused by my stupid headlight harness. So, I have no idea. I believe it would be safe to assume that all Contour fans - OEM or otherwise - are brushed, but .... Edward

Look at the wires. Thought all brushless motors have three power wires whereas the brushed have two.

Just asking because brushless motors on our dive scooters were more efficient thereby drawing less amps.

Just asking because brushless motors on our dive scooters were more efficient thereby drawing less amps. Yep. They're also a lot more expensive. Edward

Okay I'm not making this up. I was talking to a friend who lives close by and was telling him about how I was looking for those factory connectors. He was like come on down to my dads business. So later I drove over and he owns an ENTIRE junkyard now. Not only did he have some contours he had some focuses too. The early focus has the same connectors!! He also had a bronco and a wagoneer. I can't make this stuff up. Lol. It was 2 miles from my house. Lol lol

Contours are so easy to find in the salvage yards here that I've never had to look for anything else. The Waggy is cool! I have a J10 sitting on the side of the road up from my place. Been there for decades. One of these days I'm going to stop by and see if he wants to get rid of it just for the front axle. Do you know what years the Wagoneer and Bronco are? Edward

Looks like 70-80s. He said the bronco was a rare one so he might not want to part it out. It had disc brakes though and premium warn hubs. The waggy I will double check and grab the front axle hopefully this week.

I think I found a few alternatives to the Ford Contour fans. 2001-06 Chrysler Sebring, Dodge Stratus Dorman 620-350 Mid 90s Intrepid Dorman 620-004 Looking at the 2010ish Ford Transit, too. Edward
