Can't find thread where models were mentioned. ... Thinking these were mentioned Limited slip wasn't model dependent. In fact, I don't think there's a model of anything where limited slip was actually included even going back into the muscle cars. Like the locking differential, that was just a stand-alone option. My big Sport - 3.0L LS - came with limited slip, but my little Sport - 3.0L LS - didn't. They're identical vehicles. Only like 1700 vehicles apart in production. Edward

Many SUV have things like limited slip as an option. They must be ordered and wait for the dealer to bring that car for you with that option.

Yep, that's pretty much how the Montero and Montero Sport worked. Not entirely, apparently, but pretty much. I got lucky on my first '97. They couldn't sell it so the dealership started adding parts. Ended up with a lot of stuff that didn't normally come on it. Edward

My 01 has the premium package minus the leather and has the open diff as far as I know. Even the spare is an additional wheel like what's on the truck. The inside tire does chirp on tight turns but doesn't have the tag on the diff. Think mine is March 2000 if that has anything to do with it. Same color scheme.
Pretty sure all the awds came with one.

Yea, I knew about the spare. That was a weird option. Both my '97s came with the same rim that's on the vehicle - the alloy 7x15". But, I remember that being noted on the build sheet. My '03 Limited does not have the alloy spare - it has the cheap steel spare rim. Which uses acorn wheel lug nuts instead of the shoulder alloy lug nuts. That's a PITA. My friends '98 LS has the 6x15" alloy rims and the steel spare rim. I know that's the way that one came 'cause we bought it new off the dealership lot in '98. I my '99 Limited has the Premium package 'cause its on the sheet but it has the locking rear diff. Infinity, amp, 8 speaker system, heated seats, etc. but no aux rear DR side glass antenna. Which I always thought was part of the Premium package. Edward

I saw that antenna in the 1/4 glass on a sport in the yard, interesting THAT is a REALLY cool option! You need the quarter glass, the cable from there to the dash and the Y. It makes a HUGE difference. I can get stations in the middle of the Rockies and UT with my '03 that I didn't even know existed. Edward

That 1/4 panel antenna came on my Ltd. Don't know what other packages the truck came with, but it does have the alloy spare, leather, sun roof, rear heat. Not sure on the limited slip or sound system. I think I got a VIN list a while back... <looking around>

IF its around still, saw it awhile back. They turn em over 90 days DANG. Hope so. The glass is still available, but the cable and especially the Y isn't. The glass is EXTRAORDINARILY expensive. The glass seals are still available - just bought two sets - and they're cheap. You DO want the OEM ones from Mitsu - don't just black RTV the glass back in place like they did with my rear glass on the big Sport. If you can get the glass out without braking it and the cables I'd jump all over that. I've been wanting to get the cables for my '97 for years 'cause it didn't come with it and it really does make a big difference here in the mountains. Edward

That 1/4 panel antenna came on my Ltd. Don't know what other packages the truck came with, but it does have the alloy spare, leather, sun roof, rear heat. Not sure on the limited slip or sound system. I think I got a VIN list a while back... <looking around> I've been told a dozen times it's part of the Infinity package - but its not. I've seen probably a dozen Sports with the Infinity system and no antenna. The rear glass antenna is a rare item. I've been told its part of the Premium Package but its not on my '99 and I have the build sheet so I know what it was sold originally with. And I've been told a dozen times it was a 'stand alone' option like the LSD. So, .... Both the master techs at the dealership that have been doing this for 20+ years for Mitsu said they used to install the rear antenna as a dealer install item. And, the rear CD changer. And, the Mitsu keyless and keyless/alarm systems. And the limited slip differential. They told me even the fog lights. Boulder Mitsu was going to do a dealer install of the fog lights on my big Sport when I bought it. That's kind of the problem. Half the Mitsu stuff was available as a dealer install. There's almost no way to compare vehicles to figure out what was what. Far as I can tell, the only stuff that WASN'T ever a dealer install was the moon roof and the locking differential. Well, and maybe the engine and transmission. Possibly the body. Oh, and there's the goofy tinting. My little '97 has factory tinted glass - like my big '97 - and ALSO the OEM Mitsu film tinting. Dealership can't figure out if the film tint was done at the dealership or the factory. Here's a recent one ... The '97 and '98 with the Mitsu version of the Cherokee AW4 A/T had a deeper, high volume transmission pan option. Apparently there's a TSB that talks about this. I've never seen or heard of either, but the tech says he's dealt with them before. Frequently. It was NOT apparently part of the two package - which is where you'd think you'd find it. Edward
