Fixin to start an SAS. Tired of IFS bullspit. Getting a dana 44 HP front and dana 44 rear both with 5:38 gearing. Doing lockers later to save some $$. Need info advice suggestions!  |

Finally.
I would rethink using the D44 rear, it's weaker than your stock rear.
What kind of springs in front?

Don't know yet. Doing a dana 44 35 spline and need the 5:38 gears for 35" rubber. Also the rear dana 44 has more options and parts are more available. Thought of doing coilovers up front. Doing leafs in rear. Did you have to cut and reposition your knuckles danny? Been talking to Edward a lot lately.

No I didn't rotate my knuckles. I set the caster at -5*(when I fabbed my radius arms) and that put the pinion angle at 11* so I didn't see the need.
The Ford 9 inch has even more options available than the 44 rear, and is pretty much bomb-proof with 35 spline shafts in it. Guys run this combo at the King of the Hammers.

Okay ill look into it. How much lift do I need for 35's? 12"? Jeep wagoneer axles are good from what I've heard. It will be a daily driver so it needs to do highway driving.

Bd, not sure how much lift I ended up with, probly more like 8", you wanna stay as low as possible, for good stability. Mines not a daily driver but it is highway driven to wheelin spots. I would just get the waggy front and keep your stock rear. Why do the work of swapping the rear if you're swapping in a weaker axle? You want a np231 from a 97 or newer 6cyl xj (23 spline short input shaft), and you'll need to SYE the rear output. If by spring perches you mean the front coil buckets then they are reinforced by the cage(check my build on pirate for all the details www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=834107&page=5 ) |

Edward has the 5 spd, the 3043le is stronger than the stick. But, I'm pretty sure 5.29s are available for the Mitsu rear from marks4wd. |

Ya how muchb are they tho?$$$$$$.lol. I can get a reverse cut hp gear for the front and standard cut for the back. Both 5:38 gears for 350.00 on ebay.
