I guess they do fold completely flat in the first gen. The console gets in the way on mine unless I'm doing something wrong. Both generations. That's one of the big reasons I had back when for buying a Sport. Lots of vehicles out there but not a lot that fold down so you can sleep back there. The Gen 1 rear seats don't fold down completely flat, but really close. They still hit the back of the center console. I presume the Gen 2 is the same, but I can't remember. I very rarely fold the seats down in my '03. Edward

Edward Yea, I guess they didn't see it being cost effective to swap the 60/40 seat in the back for us so the passenger side would fold flat from the dash to the tailgate.

Still better than most. I gotten into the habit of parking slightly nose down and lay a foam piece down under my pads to take up that little dip. Works pretty well. Edward
